About Abersoch

Abersoch is a coastal resort about seven miles West of Pwllheli on Cardigan Bay on the A499. It has some splendid beaches - Porth Fawr, Porth Bach and Porth Ceiriad being sandy and South facing safe beaches. It is one of the most beautiful of the Llyn peninsula’s small fishing hamlets. The river mouth is a safe haven with good mooring and tidal launching of smaller craft with safe anchorage for larger yachts in the bay.

It has grown to become one of the most important water sports centers for both sailing and surfing.

On the harbour beach there are a couple of launch and recovery services that run up and down the beach. There are a small number of moorings behind the harbour wall (floating only about ¼ of the tidal range), and the upper reaches of the harbour are only useable on high tides.
