About Lochailort

There are two small jetties on the south side of Loch Ailort, near Inverlochailort. This Council-owned one is used by dinghies to reach offshore moorings. The 'Jacobite' steam train from Fort William to Mallaig passes along the far side of the loch and its smoke trail can be seen in the photo above.
