About Stein

Stein is a small settlement situated in Loch Bay, in the north-west of Skye on the Waternish peninsula. It has a tidal jetty used by the local fishing boats and leisure craft.

The four moorings to the south of the jetty are for visiting yachts (max weight 15T) and are owned and maintained by Hebridean Diving Services. The overnight fee is 10 per night per vessel and should be paid ashore at the business premises in the village, only a short walk from the jetty. The owners can be contacted on 01470 592219 or by email. If you plan to stay, please do pay. The group of moorings to the north of the jetty are not for public use. Both inner and outer trots are for private owners' use only.
