About Gill's Bay

The harbour is well known locally for the seals which are often to be seen lying on the rocks near to the seashore. Pier facilities have been built for the Ro/Ro ferry service to St Margaret's Hope on South Ronaldsay for both vehicles and passengers, the journey taking just 45 minutes on the fast catamaran, the Pentalina, the shortest car crossing to Orkney.
